Auditor’s Report:
Construction of New Buildings for Evacuated Children
In 2022, the center actively expanded due to the war: construction began on new facilities for children evacuated from boarding schools in dangerous regions of Ukraine.
Children from Mykolaiv and Odesa were received – in total, more than 150 evacuated children without parental carefound shelter at the City of Goodness in 2022.
Providing Shelter for Mothers and Children from Active Combat Zones
Since March 2022, the City of Goodness has reached a record number of residents due to the full-scale invasion. During this time, it became a home for 2,000 families and 62 seriously ill children.
By the end of 2022, together with the I Am the Future of Ukraine Foundation, we helped prevent social orphanhood for about 5,000 children across Ukraine.
A new building was opened for evacuated orphans from Odesa. The facility was constructed during wartime, featuring a bomb shelter, reinforced walls, and emergency food and hygiene supplies.
Opening of the “Tails” Animal Shelter
In 2022, we also opened Tails – a shelter that provides refuge, medical care, and rehabilitation for rescued animals.
2022 Summary
In 2022, the City of Goodness in Chernivtsi became a key evacuation center for mothers and children, launching several important infrastructural and therapeutic initiatives.
Since its opening, 43 babies have been born at the City of Goodness.
Mothers with children from all over Ukraine have come here seeking safety – and here they were able to start life anew.
We also began construction of the fourth building, to welcome and protect another orphanage from southern Ukraine, where the situation was dire due to the war.
